My wife has just accepted a new job which was meant to start on the 6th of April 2020. Unfortunately, this job probably want be starting for a few months due to the coronavirus. Her old job will finish on the 6th of April. Therefore, she is out of work. Does anyone know what she can do to claim benefits until her new job eventually starts.

Possibly claim new style JSA https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-style-jobseekers-allowance (assuming she will have no job). If household income is low then possibly Universal Credit https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/universal-credit/.
JSA is not means tested, UC is.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1
