How to pay for holiday?

I'm lucky enough to be going on an expensive crusise in July for my 50th birthday . The balance is due on April 6 and so far we are being told we have to pay it. What is the best way of paying to ensure that we can get our money back easily if the company goes bust? There is a 2.5% surcharge on credit card payments.
Thanks

Surcharges for using credit cards has been illegal in the UK since January 2018, you might want to be wary of dealing with a company that either doesn't know the law or is hoping that you don't! If you are flying from the UK, you should have an ATOL Certificate which guarantees your money is protected if the business fails but ATOL won't pay out of the company keeps trading and just refuses to refund you if the cruise is cancelled. You might want to name and shame!

Aye that sounds very dodgy. Name the company.
  • I'm due to travel with Cruise and Maritime in July. I made sure my travel insurance covered trips of up to £10k just for this one off cruise.
It will be interesting to see what they say about the surcharge???
I did think about paying £100 on my credit card to get the cover then the rest on my debit card. Would that work?

Cruise and Maritime Voyages should not be surcharging you to use your credit card for payment. Where are you actually seeing that, or who told you that?
