Employees Rights During this time

Hi. My partner currently works for a high street retail store (non-essential,) that currently has not announced its closure. My partner and I feel strongly about limiting contact during this time as we have a child to care for as well as potentially caring for dependants who are in a high risk category. We also feel it’s important for those of us who can self-isolate, should. As to protect the health care system and those workers who are essential at this time. My question is, has anyone had experience in dealing with an employer when, as an employee you do not feel comfortable about coming into work and does the employee have any right at this time regarding this matter? Many Thanks.
