Chargeback

Hi not sure if this has been been asked before.
I foolishly paid for my villa travelling 9th may with my debit card. I paid the deposit of £177 on my husbands credit card then the outstanding balance of £1600 on my debit card.
I’m wondering if I would be able to firstly claim the full amount back through my husbands credit card? Or secondly be able to make a claim through chargeback? Or have I lost the money altogether?
Thanks in advance

has the villa owner cancelled your booking? If the villa is still available for you then chargeback/S75 is not going to help.
If you have decided not to travel, have you spoken to your travel insurance company?0 -
My understanding is that if the villa is available but you choose not to travel then there's no grounds to claim either under S75 (for the credit card) or a chargeback (credit or debit card). You'd need to see if oyur travel insurance covers you.If the villa cancels your booking, they should refund you.If the villa cancels your booking and goes bust, you should be able to claim the whole amount via S75 of the credit card.Having said that, I'm sure there are whole articles on this precise topic with expert advice elsewhere on this board, so I suggest you have a read through them.0

This isnt a chargeback and will rightly be rejected. Claim on your insurance.0

Or do a chargeback on both debit & Credit card for non receipt.p00hsticks said:If the villa cancels your booking and goes bust, you should be able to claim the whole amount via S75 of the credit card.Life in the slow lane0
