Purchasers purchaser pulled out :(

In Scotland was meant to be moving 3/4 hadn't completed missives chased up yesterday and was told our purchaser's buyer has pulled out (we were being told prior to that that they were still doing money laundering).  Apparently they have found another buyer and they are still keen to buy our house and are gutted, apparently are doing everything they can to get their sale through asap.  So stressed already paid a £600 fee to Clydesdale to port mortgage over and for the valuation plus £500 for home report dont know what to do we had found a house and they are ready to go as are going into rented accomodation.   Just wondering what anyone else would do in this situation?   Was going to go and see the lady we are buying off and explain whats happened but were told to hold off for time being as the sale could still go through - trouble is we have no idea if their house is under offer and what stage they are at now - solicitor is going to get in contact with us again early next week apparently - cant book removals or van equally cant see anyone buying in this climate cant really pack my hubby thinks it may go through I'm not so sure.

I feel for you Oliel. I put my house on the market, being told by multiple agents that it would sell within 2 weeks. I went ahead and arranged to buy a new build. Everyone that has viewed all have a house to sell and now the builders have given me 2 weeks to find a buyer, just as all these restrictions have come onboard! If I don't find a buyer, the builders will put the house back up for sale. In Edinburgh, I've been advised no open viewing. I have to wipe down every surface touched once someone has come for their appointment. My house has been put on a great fixed price so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have already paid the builders for any extras that I wanted at £1300!

  • Not going to beat around the bush - most people will not be buying right now. Since you're in a chain, I would prepare for the very likely scenario it falls through or is held open for another 2 months at least.

My brother was looking at buying a house, he's a FTB, I told him earlier this week - stop and wait. It'll be the same for most others on the hunt.
