I'm pretty sure they can, although the onus is on you to self report these changes.

It's worth bearing in mind this is all run by the insolvency service, and a DRO comes under insolvency law. I'm pretty sure they would come down very heavy on someone who attempts to intentionally mislead them, and they will have a number of resources to aid an investigation.
  • When you enter a DRO you have to provide proof of income dated within the last 3 months so you would find it hard not to enter one without them knowing what you earn. It's up to you to make them aware of any change in your circumstances such as a pay rise.
They won't actively check however you should be aware that a DRO can be retroactively revoked after it's finished (very rare) if it's found you did not make the insolvency service aware of a change in circumstances and you would owe your debts again with the interest and charges added.
It has happened where a member of the public or creditor has made them aware of changes in circumstances, assets not disclosed or acquired after the DRO was approved.
Working doesn't necessarily mean it's revoked if your expenses go up you may still have less than £50 per month available to go towards your debts.
  • Had a DRO in 2012/2013 and no one checked where I worked.
Started DRO coming out of a job at 12k where after nearly 5 years of continuous employment I went and got myself a zero-hours job inadvertently in the care prof, as the year's anniversery was coming up I got myself a snazzy 16.5k ppi claims handler job (whilst it was the best time of my life, the 16.5k mega bucks job only lasted 3 months till they made us redundant! to many folk realised they could do it for themselves without a claims company so it was good night and thanks heavens I didn't report. Back end of Braintree to Loughton much of the 'high wage' went in petrol so there is always another hand that is going to take....
