My Holiday Final Payment has been requested

I have booked a 10 day holiday to the Greek island of Zante through a Luton based air tours operator. with a deposit of just £120, and have travel insurance in place from before the coronavirus issues became known. I have just received a reminder that the balance of £1700 will be due in early April. If I don't pay on time my deposit will be forfeit.

I wish to take this holiday if it is possible to do so.

is the general advice to pay the balance and confidently expect the tour operator to refund if they cannot take British passengers their for my dates in early June?

I do hope this is a sensible place to pose such a question

Wanted to amend my holiday as we are struggling financially got though to tui abd was told yesterday you can amend it for £50’per person but all the holiday I found for 2021 I was not allowed as I was making an amendment and not a new booking and was told to be more flexible? Are they allowed to do this I don’t want to cancel my husband has had his hours cut and we just can’t afford to go away in July and would like to go next year any advice would be appreciated
