No Refund | COVID-19 | Legal?

Hello,
We have made a booking online for a local experience in early march, the place now said on their website that they will not be operating the date we have booked the experience. They have also said that they will be rearranging the experience. The problem is this is a group booking for a birthday, attendees include army personnel and nurses in the NHS. We agreed to do it on that date because not only is it for a birthday but it was also the only possible date for the foreseeable future. I have discovered that the business is closed through my own initiative as they have not contact us directly.
They are stating that they are not doing refunds, however we agreed for the service to be done on a certain date and they are now breaking this agreement by not supplying it on the agreed date.
Legally how do we stand with this? Does the no refund policy on their website legal? They are not taking just a deposit it was paid in full online and if we cancel they are stating it's not refundable.
