Is the payment very recent? I think sometimes the payment comes before the letter explaining it (which is the way you'd prefer it to happen, isn't it?)Signature removed for peace of mind1

It's not unusual for payment to be received before the letter. If you ring DWP Monday morning when they open they will tell you what the decision was.

Letter will come in a couple of days.
Amount is just over 3.5 months @ std on both.

That's correct, it's not backdated if transferring from DLA.

I do think it's a shame the original post has been deleted - it's clear that this is something which does happen (money reaches bank account before the letter explaining how much and why) so it might have helped someone else.Signature removed for peace of mind3
