i have florida flight/hotel/park tickets booked for mid august with TUI, i've only paid half of the £6k (£750deposit+2250extra) so far, the rest is due end of May.if i cancel now i guess i will lose my 750 deposit , i have an existing travel insurance policy already with virgin money that covers it as it was booked in Jan2020.. what should i do to minimize my loss..(resigned to not being able to go in august but worry if i pay the full balance end of May, that i might lose everything and get nothing back refund wise ) cant afford to lose ANY money really as i think i'm about to lose my job too

You can't lose the cash you don't give them, so maybe don't pay the remainder. Call your Virgin Money and see if they have any restrictions on how far ahead you can cancel your trip. I'm also with them and the policy does not state this
"You cannot commence travel to your intended destinationdue to the (FCO) Foreign and Commonwealth Office advicefor your destination/location changing to as a minimum ‘allbut essential travel’
They might argue commencement of travel is too far away, who knows. Or it might be as soon as that FCO advice came into effect you can cancel. If you paid by credit card also look into their refund options. I flights are cancel and/or the parks remain closed as they are now that will most likely guarantee refunds.0 -
Why cancel now? It’s an ever changing situation and if you’ve nothing else to pay until the end of May, wait and see.
I have 4 separate trips booked this year, all with Tui. Two are paid in full. I’m supposed to travel to Rhodes four weeks today. I’m sure it’s off but I’m just waiting for Tui to contact me.0
