musicians- no work for the rest of the year! not just 3 months

Hi people!

My husband is a musician and has had all his work cancelled for corporate gigs, weddings, gigs in bars and bistros - although it's been announced he can claim for the next few months what about the rest of the year? People aren't booking any gigs for the latter part of the year either. How does he claim benefits now?

Also the 0% loan won't help as he doesn't have work booked in for the remainder of the year - so couldn't pay it back in 12 months.

We're in a real financial pickle as I'm out of work (employers are very cautious about interviews right now understandable so!) and my job seekers hasn't come through despite applying on the 28th Feb. Also VW Finance (i have a personal leased car) say that they're not changing their policy and are unlikely to provide 'holidays' for the contract.

All other bills such as credit card providers and our mortgage provider (natwest) are impossible to get hold of- i feels it's all spiralling out of control!

Please, please, can any help offer advice so I can get a grip for my family? I just don't know where to turn

Costco and other supermarkets are advertising for temporary staff, or you could both join agencies to be healthcare assistants or carers, they will be crying out for help.  Neither are well paid but it’s work!  

You have my sympathies, it’s a tough time for sole traders/self employed people.
