I have no issue losing the car, i wouldn't anything dodgy, im aware its inevitable, but they have to follow correct procedure, i just wanted to know the time frame that they start court action and get to repro, and what the process is.
Just get on the phone to them, and arrange handing it over asap. The longer this drags on for, and the more action that has to be taken, the higher the eventual charges will be.

Remember, simply taking the car back isn't the end of it. That simply stops you running up more debt for missed payments and stops the clock on the settlement costs. You owe them money, too... And that's going up rapidly.

Exactly. You're going to get a painful fee every time the debt collector do anything - easily another £1k just for them turning up the door. If they take it to court, the costs are going to get crazy.
Technically, you could hide the car and hold out, but in terms of money saving the best course of action is to phone them and arrange to return the car, then sort out a plan for the outstanding money.

Another suggested committing theft as a solution...
    It is still not clever.

I'm pointing out it's a bad solution. He'll get a bill every time the bailiffs come and can't take it away.
