If you are not due to travel till late May, you would be best waiting till closer to departure to make any decision re cancelling. The FCO guidance gives the current position that may or may not be valid in 2 months time.0

We got an identical email from our insurance company. We have annual insurance with NFOP which is renewed annually by DD.BazzaG said:Please note, as of 13th March 2020 our policies will not cover any claims caused by or relating to Coronavirus, COVID-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-COV-2), any mutation of Coronavirus, COVID-19 or SARs-COV-2 or any pandemic or fear or threat of any the above. I recently saw this notice on my travel insurance company website. I am now wondering how this affects my rights under my policy bought and paid for my holiday to Italy in late May as the Foreign & Commonwealth have issued advice against travel worldwide and my chances of a successful claim! Your advice eagerly awaited. Thank you!
Surely they can't in all seriousness apply this retrospectivley?I USED TO BE INDECISIVE BUT NOW I'M NOT SO SURE!
Rich people tell you that money doesn't bring you happiness just so the poor people don't feel jealous.0 -

They state this -
"When did you buy? Travel insurance is designed to cover the ‘unforeseen’, so if you had purchased your policy at or after the point that the COVID19 outbreak was known about, then you will be asked for some specific evidence to prove that when you bought your policy you had no intention or reasonable likelihood of claiming."0
