Train season tickets

I have been instructed to work from home by my company and so am not using my Annual season ticket to commute(7200 per year), my train company will allow me to cancel my ticket but I lose a large proportion of the value and once I return to work I will have to buy either a full year ticket to get the discounted rate or expensive monthly tickets. Does anyone know if there are plans to allow people to freeze their tickets?
