Coronavirus/Agency Worker/Laid Off

Hi,   I hope someone may advise me please.  My hubby is an agency worker.  On Thursday this week, he was laid off due to Coronavirus, not because he's ill or been near someone who is. But because the car manufacturer who was working for (the agency pays him) can't get parts from China so can't build their cars.  I was wondering if there are any benefits he may claim.  I am still working myself for now and am full time but this could change.  We have our 19 yr old daughter living with us, who is doing a course but not enough hours to claim Child Benefit or Child Tax Credits.  She does get PIP at the enhanced rate for daily living needs and standard rate for mobility needs. She has special educational needs, austism, etc and is the reason hubby took an agency job so he could be there if needed for her.  We also rent from a private landlord who has kindly just put up the rent from 6th April 2020.
Thank you.

Use a benefits calculator to see what options you have.

The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

Your daughter may be able to claim Universal Credit for herself to help the household income.

Even if your own income means that you and husband are not eligible for UC yourselves husband could claim new style JSA which will pay £73/week for six months.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Thank you for your suggestions. I am hoping today's announcement may apply to him.
