Hi
Fleetway Travel have cancelled our package holiday for April 17th and are not issuing refunds, option to rebook or vouchers, straight up cancel and contact your insurance.  If they have the money and are not able to fulfil the contract shouldn't we be getting a refund?  It does say in the T&Cs on the site now, no idea if they have changed them, that trip are non-refundable, so i know that might the end of it but no harm in checking.
I booked on a credit card, do you think there is much hope in claiming back through that?
I have insurance but now turns out to have been a waste of money as is not covering anything.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Hello
I am in exactly the same position.
I received an e-mail from Fleetway cancelling our April holiday - the first communication since they accepted the payment and made the booking. Essentially it said that:
    - we are cancelling the holiday
    - go to your insurer
    - don't contact us.
Putting aside their attitude towards customer care when things get difficult:
I went to my insurer Ageas which is part of an annual group scheme. They stated that the cancellation cover only applies in certain circumstances and this wasn't one of them.
Can anyone advise as to the legal position? It seems to me that since Fleetway have my money for holiday dates in the future, and have cancelled it without offer of redress in some way, they have broken the contract. Surely they can't just do that?
Once again, advice would be appreciated.

  • Have just received an e mail from Fleetway responding to my e mail to them prior to cancellation. They have offered me credit to my account valid for 2 years....may be an option?

Thanks for your responses.  I am emailing to see about a refund, if thats not an option I will claim through my credit card under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
