BYOJet Email this morning

Hi All
I received an email from BYOjet (agent) this morning regarding some virgin flights i booked to the US to fly on 10th April 2020
They are offering 2 options:
1 - Take vouchers from them to rebook flights within 12 months - Possible extra costs etc
2 - Continue with booking and not cancel existing flight
I would either like to take the existing flight or get a full refund as i am unable to fly on any other date within the next 12 months. My question is if i choose option 2 to continue with existing booking and it doesn't go ahead as flights from the UK to US are still cancelled are BYOJet then obiliged to give me a full refund? If not could i claim for this on an existing travel insurance policy?
Thanks alot in advance

Thank you for your patience as we respond to the world’s reaction to COVID-19. We are beyond proud of the professionalism, resilience, kindness and patience our customers and staff are showing in this unprecedented situation. To assist you we have two options for your Virgin Atlantic flights while our call centre
is under significant pressure responding to the rapidly evolving travel situation.
OPTIONS:
OPTION
1: CREDIT SHELL
What
this means is, we will inform Virgin Atlantic
that you will not be travelling
and they will place the value
of your ticket into a credit that can be used to travel at a later date (up to 12 months after your original booking was created).
You
do not pay any upfront fees, you will pay the applicable reissue/change fees plus any airfare difference at the time you book your new flights. (Some airlines have waived reissue/change fees due to COVID-19 this will apply when you rebook). Normal BYO fees
apply.
You
still have the option to put your ticket in for refund up to 12 months prior to the original date of issue. Normal fare rules will apply at the time of requesting your refund.
If
you select this option we will put your flight into Virgin Atlantic
credit and contact you in the near future with the details.
OPTION
2: STILL
WISH TO TRAVEL
What
this means is, you still wish to travel, do not change my flight.
