Hotel cancelled - refund rights

Hello - A few months ago I booked a Murder Mystery Weekend direct with a (Best Western) hotel. The hotel has cancelled the weekend (21-22 March) and has emailed me to offer an alternative date or a voucher. Am I entitled to a refund instead as they cancelled? I'd rather know my rights here before I get on the phone to them. Many thanks.
