Accommodation costs
1. University owned halls etc
Check with the university, if they are closing halls you may be entitled to a refund or not billed for the final term
2. private halls
Again check with the provider, though it is more likely you will have to honour the contract
3. private houses
It is likely you are on a fixed term contract and have to pay rent until the end of it. Ask the landlord or agent if you can negotiate an early surrender, this may be more likely if you are not living in a student area and there is an opportunity for the landlord to find new tenants.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Technically a money making, rather than saving suggestion:
Check if you could get work in the “essential categories”. Not glamorous, but helping people and country. You will also get paid. Prioritise university work, but consider options. It will be good for mental health too: giving purpose and sense of community. But, ensure you are safe!0
