PV inverter failed over 6 weeks ago no adequate replacement
My PV inverter failed -error message E031- at the start of February (over the weekend of course
). On February 3rd I contacted ABB, as the inverter is still under warranty. I was told a new inverter would be coming and it could take up to 3 weeks to arrive to the fitting "partners" who would then get it to me ASAP. A month went by and a number of emails and phone calls were exchanged finally on March 10th (5 weeks after my first request) a new inverter was installed... but it only worked for a week; on the sunny morning of Tuesday 17th March nothing was coming through the solar pannels. I tried to phone the company (which is now Fimer) but the phones aren't being answered because of COVID 19 so I emailed. They are now telling me the delay for a new inverter is likely to be at least 4 weeks as the factory is in Italy. My question is: Am I entitled to a refund for a new inverter and fitting costs as they are not able to provide me with the product I need AND the product they gave me as a replacement broke within a week... I have lost all confidence in the product they may install in 5 to 8 weeks given the situation with this virus and travelling restrictions etc... I am losing many units of now that the weather is improving so the delay is costing me dearly both in Electricity and in FIT which I will not receive. Please help!

It's unlikely that you'll get any compensation for lost energy or FIT payments as most warranties wont cover consequential losses. I think you'll also have to accept that with the situation as it is then there will be disruption to the supply and fitting of replacement parts. I guess that you haven't actually lost your leccy supply from the grid
TBH the loss of some energy & FIT payments probably doesn't equate to the loss of a job, household income or or even your life due to the Covid virus so getting annoyed about a delay probably wont help you or your blood pressure.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers2 -
You will be better cut and pasting your post in the 'Green and Ethical' section of this forum as that is where most of the solar panel owners contribute; and you may get some more advice.
