Shearings have cancelled our hotel booking for April as the hotel is closing due the the Corona Virus outbreak, they are offering to change the booking but not a refund.

Lots of businesses are now offering this option as they have to preserve cash reserves.
Check the terms and conditions to see if this is covered.
Perhaps actually consider moving the holiday to a later date. That way you are supporting British companies and British jobs.0
