How do I leave Spark Energy?
Options
Moved into a property last week and can't get hold of them; I want to leave and join Eon as their rate is far cheaper. I've told Eon I want to join but Spark have blocked it.
I have the meter reading from when we took possession of the property last week, but they never answer the phone or social media messages, and the live chat is never on (in my experience). Does anyone have an email address? It's been a week of constant messaging, I'm not sure how I leave them!

Spark will block the move because you haven't set up an account with them .They are your "deemed supplier" when you moved in. Once you have an account set up ,then you can start the switch away.0

The other issue you may have ,is that the previous owners/tenants haven't closed their account!0

It's good that you are putting the matter in writing to them.If you have not already done so I would submit a complaint to them (either via email or perhaps the Resolver website). Tell them that they have been uncontactable, provide them with the meter readings, and tell them that you want them to put you on the cheapest tariff they have, which does not have exit fees, from the first day that you tried to contact them (and certainly no later than your first written contact). It would be completely unacceptable for them to keep charging you their deemed tariff rate, just because they have failed to make themselves available.0

It's been a week of constant messaging, I'm not sure how I leave them!Hello byjimini and many thanks for your interest in joining us.Once the objection has been sorted and if you still wish to carry on with the switch, please reapply as before. If possible, can I ask you to do this online? As the Coronavirus crisis deepens and our staffing levels continue to fall, we're concentrating on emergencies, supporting our vulnerable customers and doing all we can to keep people on supply. We would really appreciate it if contact could be limited to emergencies at this time. If customers do need to contact us, it's best to use the Live Chat and Social Media channels (twitter/Facebook) so we can keep the phone lines free for emergencies. At the moment, these channels are open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and between 8am and 6pm Saturdays. Thanks for your understanding byjimini and stay safe.Malc

I'm quite eager to switch over since Spark are taking £80 a month, and E-on would be just under £40.0 -

If it's us, I suspect we might already have you logged in our system. In which case, we would need to reactivate the application. Thanks byjimini.Malc
