Horizon Parking - Tesco Extra Cardiff - RESOLVED

Give it a few days and then check the Horizon website - enter the PCN details and see if there’s anything to pay.
hopefully not!Screenshot or print out the page that says “pcn cancelled” and keep it somewhere safe for six years just in case!PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)1 -
Took a couple of extra visits back to Tesco to prod them on it. (Obv they're more concerned with bigger things right now), as I got quite concerned that when checking online it still showed I "owed" the money, right up to the day the appeal time would run out.During the 2nd visit, I spoke to the original CS desk girl again and she said she'd handed it to her manager on the original day I handed it in, then her manager walked by and confirmed she'd sent it off for cancellation that same day.Literally on the final appealable day I went back to Tesco CS again and spoke to a different person who again said they would send it off for cancellation again (I kept asking them to give me a copy of their request so I had something in writing as proof, but unfortunately they never got back to me).Just checked today (2 days after appeal deadline ran out), and it now shows:ta-daaa. Phew!Tesco thought Horizon weren't cancelling it because they were shut due to COVID-19, however checking online showed they were still active. I bet they were intentionally not cancelling it while the appeal time ran down, and were waiting to see if I paid up first! Good that I didn't, though I was worried they'd just ignore Tesco's request for cancellation, and I'd still have no proof.Shows that complaining to the Landowner first works, got a bit hairy though since I struggled to get anything as proof from my side. I've screenshotted & saved the cancellation (and my bank statement) which I'll keep for a few years. What a bloody farce! All this stress & anxiety (just from spending a lot of time & money in a shop!) would be saved if these companies weren't just crooks out to make money from scaring people, and instead parking was just managed by the stores themselves with a reasonable appeal service, then legit customers would have nothing to worry about!No-one should have to sit worried for weeks (and YEARS it seems) that some dodgy company will "get" them years later, and rag them through the courts, just because they didn't see an unlit sign at night while going shpping.3

Well done, good result.No-one should have to sit worried for weeks (and YEARS it seems) that some dodgy company will "get" them years later, and rag them through the courts, just because they didn't see an unlit sign at night while going shpping. That sums up the scam very nicely! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

YES, you are right and Tesco is the worst supermarket for good customer service, in their smaller stores they give their staff cameras to take pictures ....... you cannot spend money with traitors ??
You have come to the right forum so don't worry, you must however get everything that has been said in writing so get confirmation by email.

Complain in writing to the Tesco CEO too , tell him what you told us , especially when queues to get in prolong parking time , show him the recent Sainsbury's debacle with Ecp doing the same thing
Tell them to turn off the power to the cameras and internet connection1
