UK holiday disruption

I'm due to go on a short holiday on a narrow boat with my family in 3 weeks time. As I am in the over 70 category and having to isolate we won't be able to go now. Is there some way I can get a refund? It's not the boat yards fault of course and I have emailed them to ask what their stance is. Someone has suggested that the credit card company may well be liable (although hardly their fault either). ANybody got any thoughts or knowledge of the law in these circumstances?

No - neither the company nor the credit card would be liable (unless the comany has very generous t&cs). Your best hope is for some goodwill from the company, such as a change of date.1
