Booked to go to New York

Hi all,
Booked to go to New York on the 8th May. I know it's pretty certain that I won't be going but on the trip I booked hotel and flight seperately (first time ever) I have travel insurance which was purchased some time ago.
Will I be covered and able to claim a full refund if the fco still advise against travel? What happens if the fco warning is withdrawn but the US still refuse entry to visitors from the UK?
Thanks in advance
Ben

Similar situation, due to fly May 5th and don't plan on going.
Firstly hope your flight is canceled as you'll get a full refund, but airlines seem to be doing this last minute to avoid paying out en-mass. Try to call your insurer and find out when you can claim for FCO warning cancellation, most policies are not clear on what the timing is. Can you cancel straight away and claim, try to find out?
If FCO removes warning you probably won't be able to claim cancellation even if the US is still denying UK citizen entry.0
