Pansonic LCD colour fading?

Hi, I have a Panny 32 inch LCD tv, almost 1 year old.
I have noticed that sometimes the colours go from light to much darker, like a light's being dimmed if that makes sense? It seems to happen when there's a screen change .
We've had one enigineer out who couldn't see it happening so didn't investigate further. It happens more on certain channels.
Any ideas anyone

It may be that the backlight has gone.
It can be fixed, but I am not sure I would want to try lol
