Credit ladder

I signed up with credit ladder after reading about it on MSE. It's been great so far. But, I need to change my email with credit ladder and so I emailed them for advice on how to do this. The reply I recieved said in one sentence "With reference to change of email can you provide photo ID?" Well to me alarm bells have rung! I have emailed them back to say I am not happy with supplying this due to fraud and why would they need such ID. Suprise suprise, I have not had a reply. Just wanted to know if anyone else has come across this or any advice? I wish I could ask Martin and bring this to his attention as I think this is something others need to be aware of.

I'm afraid Martin is busy lying on his yacht at the moment, so can't take your call.
It's maybe not the smartest way of ID'ing, but they won't be about to rip you off. However, if you're concerned, just don't do it. and cancel. Credit ladder doesn't do much in terms of demonstrating credit history in any case, as lenders expect you to pay your rent in any case. It just got a lot of good publicity.1 -
Presumably they're asking for ID in an attempt to deter people from fraudulently claiming to be you? I wouldn't presume they have any nefarious plans for your ID.kandk4 said:The reply I recieved said in one sentence "With reference to change of email can you provide photo ID?"
