EasyJet flight cancellation refunds

Hi all, I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem. I had booked two single flights from Bologna Italy to LGW and back again for myself and my husband, as easyJet cancelled all flights to and from Italy we couldn’t use them so they offered a refund or the chance to change our flights. As we don’t know when things will get better we opted for the refund. There was no mention that this refund wouldn’t be in full. I received an email confirmation days later to confirm the refund request and saw that on the outbound flight I was refunded less than 50% of the original flight price and on the inbound ticket I was refunded 30% of the original cost. I can’t seem to find any information on their website as to why, tried getting in contact to no avail and just ended up sending a contact message via their website but I just can’t Understand why we’re not being refunded in full if they cancelled the flight? For info our flights were cancelled on 11/03/20. Had I known we would get so little of our money back I would have just rebooked for much later in the year. If anyone could help I would be really grateful!

  • I have looked and there is this info in terms and conditions (see bold text below) regarding cancelled flights i.e. it mentions refunds could be made as multiple partial refunds.  No idea why, but hopefully you will receive further refunds up to the full value !!
    If your flight is cancelled, you are able to manage your disruption online by changing your flight or requesting a refund when selecting ‘manage disruption/ transfer your flight’ on your mobile app, manage booking or flight tracker. Please note that refunds may be made to your original payment method(s) via multiple partial refunds (up to the amount of the total refund due).

  • Thank you! I’ll have to wait and see in that case, no word yet from easyJet nor any sign of the refunds but at least that’s reassuring to know.. thanks again 
  • I have just attempted to get a refund via the above. Having gone round in circles you are told to  'contact customer service team' but gives no contact number. I obtained the number from Google search, after the usual recorded pleasantries I was cut off. Anyone managed to get a refund yet?
