I recently went on holiday and I got a package holiday and got it on line that cost me £1,300.00 to get away from work over Christmas and new year. When I arrived it wasn't what was expecting for a hotel and mucky, so I sent the holiday company emails to say for them to contact me as I had a one of there sim card in my phone which wouldn't let me make a Internationale calls. That was on the first day and had know reply, I sent 5 emails as there was know holiday rep to talk to asking them to contact me and still know answer. I went threw ABTA about this and the reply from the holiday company said I picked this hotel but it was a package does any one Know my rights as a customer getting a online holiday and how far can you go to make people aware of this company ?

I think your expectations may have been higher than they should be, a look at Tripadvisor suggests the average nightly rate is £18, and although India is cheap it is a 2-star hotel and not going to be like the Taj Mahal. Despite that, most of the reviews are quite positive, Love Holidays doesn't have a single rep anywhere in the world, they are an online business that puts together your choice of flights and accommodation. If you re-read the description of the hotel on Love Holidays website and can find anything false, you may have a claim. If you expected more than you got, but cannot find any misleading descriptions, you may have more of a problem0

As above, this is not a proper package where one travel operator provides flights, transfers and accommodation. It is the equivalent of DIY.0

You booked a multi contract package. You should have contacted their supplier or their local agent. Their number would be on your hotel voucher and your paperwork. Did you try to contact them as per the agreed complaints procedure?0

Yes I did by email explaining that because I had a Indian sim card I couldn't make international call could they ring me and as there was no hotel rep. I sent them 5 emails at the start of the holiday with no reply ?0

First time to India? What were you expecting? From your hotel and from the resort itself? In what way was your hotel 'mucky'?It can come as something of a shock to a lot of people.A lot of the hotels on the BCC (Baga/Calangute/Candolim) strip are of a similar standard.I agree with Alan Bowen that the reviews are not bad and probably better than a lot of hotels. The streets are dusty and could be deemed dirty by our standards, lacking in pavements in a lot of areas. It's not like going to Benidorm. You did pick your hotel, even Loveholidays wouldn't have booked you into a hotel that you didn't agree to staying in.I've booked 2 package holidays for this summer (proper packages, not like LoveHolidays put together) and I've chosen both hotels. That's how it works. What response did you get from ABTA?
