Should I cancel my BA flights or wait for them to let me know

I was due to fly to Miami on 9th April - obviously this will not happen now but on BA website under management my booking, it says the flight is still due to operate. Should I cancel the booking myself and hope for a full refund or wait until BA contact me to say flight is cancelled, thus invoking their own conditions that I will be given a refund? I know they are prioritising customers with earlier flights first so don’t want to ring them just yet.

Why would you risk cancelling it yourself and get nothing back as a result?
In any case, did you miss the FCO advice yesterday saying that no international travel at all in the next 30 days? 9th April falls comfortably within this. In the event they dont cancel the flight and give you your money back, claim off your insurance.1 -
I expect BA might be working through cancellation and refunds.
I am still trying to dismantle my Singapore Airlines flight tonight (a story I won’t trouble you with) but I have a BA flight booked to Jersey in mid-April and BA have sent me an email saying the flight is currently planned to operate but I can reschedule or cancel if I wish. It explains I can do this via MMB.
If not already done, check your booking and make sure the airline has your contact information. Do this under Manage My Booking. I suspect automatic contact is being made to those they can reach easily.1 -
Emirates airline are still operating the flight(s) I have booked in April, can't see how that can happen.
We are holding off cancelling as its only a part refund, if they cancel its full refund. They have offered a voucher but dubious about that as if they go bankrupt then it's useless unless if not used. If used and you have booking and they go bankrupt credit card company covers.1 -
Just wait. It will happen eventually. They are snowed under at the moment, so prioritising flights due to go this week.Madders14 said:I was due to fly to Miami on 9th April - obviously this will not happen now but on BA website under management my booking, it says the flight is still due to operate.
