Halifax ATM

Anyone else have trouble today/yesterday with Halifax ATM's? I usually go to the branch and use the machine inside for security because the branch is closest to a Blue Badge space. Today The inside ATM was labelled "Out of Order", so I put my card in the outdoor ATM. It kept my card and just beeped at me, wouldn't do anything at all. Left my wife watching the machine, which eventually spat out the card. Informed the only employee I could find, who said "Yes we know about it." I said "Well why is there no notice on the outdoor one, like the indoor ATM?" Blank look.
Went across the street to an HSBC ATM, no problem. Got into the car to go home and another man walked into the branch, saw the sign, walked out to the outdoor ATM. I shouted to tell him, but he just shoved his card in, with the inevitable result.
I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

It sounds like an isolated incident to the branch, cash machines do break down like any other item of machinery. You got your card back and your money at another ATM.1

It is probably due to the new £20 notes - a lot of ATM's don't like them!0
