Fiberglass & rockwool loft insulation no longer "fit for purpose" - Really ?

Been having a few unsolicited phone calls from a self proclaimed "energy efficiency" advisory outfit claiming that fibreglass/rockwool loft insulation is no longer fit for purpose. Apparently some government report has said so.... Despite repeated requests, they are unable to provide a copy of this report or any links to it. Today was a bad day for them to telephone. They want to waste my time, I'll waste theirs. Booked an appointment for one of their "surveyors" to call round.
As suspected, the company is flogging polyurethane spray foam insulation with the claim that it will solve all issues with old, uninsulated roofs. The "surveyor" took one look at my roof and said it was unsuitable for Duratherm (no !!!!!! Sherlock) because it is covered in Norfolk Pantiles. He didn't respond too well when I pointed out that spray foam is probably the worst stuff that can be put in any roof structure, and the claimed report did not exist. Also advised him that I have a severe allergic reaction to bullsh1t...
Duratherm, flogged by a company by the name of Affordable Energy Ltd - If you get any calls from them, file a report with the ICO. They do not respect the TPS register and will quite happily pester ex-directory numbers.
Their product WILL cause long term damage to the timbers in your roof and will cost a great deal of money to remove & repair in the future.

Credit should go to Will Smith and the script writers of I Robot
