Travel Republic not refunding

We booked our accommodation through Travel Republic, the hotel we were staying at has closed as Spain is in lockdown, Travel Republic are telling their customers they must claim through travel insurance and they won't refund. We are lucky that ours is only accommodation costs, other people have paid for their full holidays and cannot get a refund.
Easyjet have cancelled our flights and the refund is being processed already yet TR are refusing any refunds
