EU261 compensation cancelled flight

Hi. I had a flight from Israel to the UK with a European airline This flight was cancelled a couple of days ago, less than 14 days before the flight. They did not offer me an alternative flight, just a refund (which they said will take a long time to process). There was no travel ban in place, only a requirement for those coming into Israel from abroad to self-isolate. (Foreign residents need to prove that they have a residential address where they can self-isolate for 14 days in order to be admitted to the country). They obviously cancelled only due to lack of demand. Am I entitled to compensation?
