Self isolating

Whilst in work this morning I mentioned my 3 year old is teething and has a super snotty nose!
I have said he has no temperature and no cough I was still told  I had to go home and self isolate! Which I’m happy to do where do I stand it I keep my older children in school!
i can understand where they are coming from but I have had no medical  advice to self isolate and my son has sats coming up, is already behind and in lower ability groups and the loss of education before schools close will be detrimental to his learning!
i do really think work had over reacted as none of us have symptoms but I just don’t want this to have an impact on their learning

Any decision your work makes about your attendance has no bearing on your children going to school.

If you feel you need to self isolate, then you just need to try to keep yourself away from people to as large an extent as you can.

If you feel your whole family needs to self isolate, then you need to do that.

Most people will be reluctant to self isolate unless necessary,i normally get the lurgy once a year and spend up to a week coughing up nice green phlegm first thing in the morning. Its worse in a nice warm house but out in the cold its fine no problems.
But i know quite a few people who are milking this self isolation for all its worth two of which had enough after 2 days and they both tried going back to work to be told no.Then they were told they would only get ssp as they had been there for less than 2 years.Younger relatives daughter had a slight cough.....and surprise surprise school went into lock down and closed, which was great because her and her brother plus daddy who was a teacher in same school at home self isolating.Mummy who is a nurse now has to stay home as well,BUT it since come to light they were giving the loft and  store rooms a good clean out over the weekend (lots of dust)
