advise - flight and hotel booking (seperate) paid credit card - UK-TURKEY-DUBAI (turkish airlines)

hi guys
i hope you can help and sorry if this has been answered a million times. but confused and getting misinformation from the travel agency.
so we booked a flight via third party travel agency for mid-april - turkish airlines, a short stop over in turkey then onto dubai
and the plan was on the way back we could stay in turkey for a few days  ( I did not book that hotel yet)

FLIGHTS
the flights were booked on credit card, but we didn't take any additional protection.
now flights between uk and turkey are cancelled and flights between turkey and uae are cancelled at this moment in time
the travel agency said they need permission from turkish airlines to cancel, turkish airlines have said they have nothing do with it you need to speak to the agency.

HOTEL

the hotel for the dubai stay was booked via expedia are non refundable/no changes.
paid by credit card 
i tried to contact expedia but there is no answer and numbers seem cancelled - from the official website


what is the best step forward in getting a refund for this trip?
its too late to get travel insurance right? and it wont necessarily cover this trip ?

    have your flights actually been cancelled by the airline?
    there is information re cancellation on the website https://www.turkishairlines.com/en-gb/announcements/coronavirus-outbreak/ (many of the flights are cancelled up to 1st April currently)
    If the flights are cancelled then you ask your agent to request a refund from the airline, the airline refunds their customer (your agent) who would then deduct their service fees and pass on the remainder
    If the flights are still scheduled to operate and you have no insurance then you will need to hope that they are cancelled before your date of travel unless the airline offer refund. (some are offering reschedules or vouchers for non-cancelled flights)
    Unless the hotel closes/cancels your booking, with no insurance you are hoping for a goodwill gesture, maybe date change could be offered...the hotel website may have details on their site
    paying by credit card does not help get a refund unless the supplier does not make the service available to you. If the hotel has your booking and room available for you on your dates then you cannot claim anything from credit card

    the hotel said they are happy to cancel, but speak to the agent to process it which is expedia. but they are not picking up phone? 

    as its a connecting fight to dubai

    United Arab Emirates flights:

    All our United Arab Emirates flights have been cancelled until April 17, 2020'

    flight was on 14th uk-turkey-dubai


    I can't see uk written on there, but only europe
