School closures & pay?

My wife works in a school as a teaching assistant, obviously schools have not closed yet however it looks likely (based on other countries responses to the Corona-virus outbreak) that at some point our schools will close too.
I wondered what pay my wife should expect to get if she is forced to not attend work due to the school being closed? I assumed she would be paid in full, as normal if it is not her choice to not come in however I wanted to check that.
Thanks!

If she's paid by the government I imagine her pay would remain the same. If her employment is under two years they may let her go but unlikely in what is expected to be relatively short term problemMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023
Make £2024 in 2024...1 -
If the school closes and she is available to work them the school must pay her normal wages. Just to be on the safe side, I suggest if she isn't part of one already, that she join a union. Not just for this but because it is a good thing to have as you never know when you might need the help.1

If she has been employed for less than 2 years the school could simply end her employment, although hopefully that isn't a route they will take as this is hopefully a comparatively short term problem.

The person that started this thread is more than likely back at work now because this thread was started 6 months ago.
