Due to fly to LA in April with BA which obviously isn't happening now but I was wondering how it would be dealt with in our circumstances as the seats were first class paid for with Avios points using our Amex Companion voucher.

I see that BA are offering a voucher for flights they've cancelled so does this mean we'd get a voucher like for like?

If the flight is cancelled you will get a refund of your Avios and any taxes and fees you paid. You will also get your companion voucher back. If the expiry date on your companion voucher is soon, you can ask for an extension to it.
If the flight is going ahead without you, you need to request a cancellation at least 24 hours in advance, you get everything back other than a £35 admin fee.

  • Thanks Silvercar…..we did have an email to say the flight was still planned to depart but given that's it's 3 weeks away, it might as well be 3 years away the speed things are changing.
