Withdrawing credit card refunds

Hi, I'm after some advice on credit card refunds.
We've had our dream holiday cancelled and are hoping for a full refund to our credit card, we're talking thousands of £ as the booking was for 10 people.
How do we withdraw that money once it has been refunded, will we have to pay a fee? We will be looking to book again once things have died down but don't really want all that money sitting on a credit card.
Thanks in advance for any advice

You can spend that money or it might be possible to get it as a cheque.
Speak to the card issuer tomorrow, they will be best advised to help you.

Don't withdraw it as cash, you'll be stung.  Just ask them to send you a cheque.  Sooner or later they'll do that anyway as they don't like CC accounts to be in credit.

Some card companies will also do a bank transfer.  When I cleared a 0% deal on MBNA last year I accidentally paid £70 too much.  I called them and the money was in my bank account within 2 days.

Just ask them to transfer it to the bank account any payments come from. Given the situation far better as no need to trail to/find a local branch.

I’ve had this twice recently with Halifax and Nationwide credit cards. Both simply transferred the credit balance to my current account, no fees.

I’ll be having the same situation as you with Amex soon due to flight cancellations.
