Ive just logged on with the same question. My son is 13. We had discussed moving his CTF into a junior ISA last autumn but as it was doing well we left it there. To log on to see a drop of £3k was a concern. Yes i'm aware that it will fluctuate but losing a third of its value in a matter of weeks is considerable.

I'm slightly reassured by what others have said. I think we will leave it as is with the belief that it will rebuild itself over the next 5 years

Shares go up and down all the time.   If prices fall, it only becomes a real loss if you sell.

I see what you mean but it's not really a case of selling. The account will mature (in 20 months in our case) and I was worried that it would just freeze at whatever that amount happened to be. I spoke to the CTF provider and they said it would continue to receive the same terms and benefits until the child decided what to do with it but no further contributions could be made. Therefore, DD could hang fire at maturity until she was happy with the amount. Anyway, I've spoken to DD and she's happy to leave it and I have stopped looking.
