Accused of not paying for petrol

Hi there
My girlfriend leases and a car and got a letter through today saying that she had not paid for petrol and owes money. She swears that she has not been to the petrol station in question and so has asked for some photographic evidence but they will not deal with her until a letter has been sent by the leasing company (which has been sent). Could someone please tell me what the petrol station would need to supply in terms of proof? If she's made a genuine mistake, of course she's happy to pay, but she is adament it was not her!
Thanks everyone :)

  • This is probably not the right forum for this.

The petrol station probably has CCTV footage of someone filling up and leaving without paying.

Is this a filling station in a location where your girlfriend has been or could have been? If it's in some distant, never visited part of the country, then it probably means they've misread the number plate.

Hi guys. The leasing company contacted them direct and it was a misread on the number plate! It was nearby so I didn't totally believe her haha! Thanks for replies! Sorry to waste your time
