Question on travel insurance

We have a packaged holiday booked through Expedia UK (include return flights from New York to the Bahamas and hotel in the Bahamas). I'm currently already in the US for work. However my OH is due to fly here and now can't. My question is if I would be covered by the travel insurance in this kind of situation? I would like to cancel the entire trip not just my OH part of the trip (but would it be complicated by the fact that I'm already in the US?)
Obviously Expedia is not going to give us a refund for not being able to reach the US right?
