Struggling to get anywhere with KLM

Had a flight booked to visit family in Panama next Monday (16th) with KLM. Was warned by my family that chances were things were going to start getting cancelled over there on Friday and to try to rearrange my flights. Unfortunately for whatever reason I'm not able to do this online so I've been trying to get hold of KLM through any means I can (unfortunately when you do manage to get through to them on the phone it tells you the call queue is longer than 30 minutes and to try again later then hangs up!)
Yesterday I got an email to tell me the Amsterdam to Panama leg of my outbound flight has been cancelled but the flight out to Amsterdam along with the return flights have not been cancelled.
At this point it feels like my only option is to go to the airport and try the people at the desk but I don't know if this was a fools errand. Is anyone else having issue getting through to KLM or have any advice? Sadly I can't go through the travel insurance because the insurance KLM sold me at the time of booking says that I'm not covered in the event of an epidemic or pandemic (last time I use the easy route, I'll be more careful next time). It's the first time I've been able to afford to go abroad in years and I'm obviously gutted and the feeling that I may lose that money entirely is stressing me out big time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you booked the flights through to Panama in one go, then you should be entitled to a full refund, you never booked to go to Amsterdam, that just happens to be the point of transfer

last year I had some issues with a flight I'd booked, and found Twitter was a reasonable way of getting through to them! It took a while, and is probably taking even longer atm, but worth a try?
