Car went into back of my car. What do I do next?

They admitted liability and we exchanged contact details. Damage is crushed number plate and little gauges/scratches on surrounding bodywork. They would prefer to settle without using their insurer if possible.
I’ve tried contacting my insurer ‘Quote Me Happy’ for advice but they have no call centre and I don’t know when they’ll reply to my email.
In the meantime, should I just take car for a quote. It’s only 2 years old so I’d like to go to my dealer and get a replacement number plate from them.

The plate itself is trivial. A tenner or so for a replacement, and unless you actively want to advertise the dealer for some reason, no difference between them supplying it or anybody else.
"little gouges/scratches on surrounding bodywork" could cover a multitude of sins. I presume the plate's mounted in the bumper? It's possible there's damage to the crush structures behind the bumper, as well as the visible damage to the bumper skin itself. Photo? What sort of impact speed?0 -
A "simple" bumper knock like this can easily run into a £1K+ bill. Inform your insurer for information, get it looked at by a pro and decide which way to go from there.

How old is the car? any warranty left?
Take to dealer or body shop and get a quote, make sure they check if there is no other damage behind the bumper.
Ask the other driver to pay you the costs upfront.0 -
Your post implies that you are only wanting to repair the number plate - if this is the case then you really should not go through insurance, you can buy a new plate at Halfrauds for £8.0

One thing to bear in mind thought when replacing the number plate for when you go to sell the car
A different style of number plate at the back compared to the front will/could indicate to a buyer that the car has had rear end damage.
Also, the crash bar behind the bumper could be damaged.1
