Don't understand travel insurance

Hi, me and my mates have booked a holiday to Montenegro in a few weeks. The accommodation booked through AirBNB and flights & car hire through Ryanair.
For the 5 of us we have paid £790.
I'm struggling to understand what is covered by Travel Insurance if we are not able to go. At the moment Montnegro is the only country in europe with 0 virus cases. So it may be fine. Or, the country may decide to keep people out in order to continue with 0 cases...
I have looked at quotes for insurance (getting more expensive by the day!!) and the policies T&Cs are too confusing to undestand; and though I haven't tried, I'm sure it is impossible to get hold of any insurance company at the moment.
What confused me is that when I made the quote on comparethemarket, it does not ask how much the holiday cost. so I don't quite know what is covered, is it the full £790, or does it not cover car hire, etc.
Flight = £333, house = £342, car = £117
Can anyone advise me
as I have never bought travel insurance for a holiday before. Thanks.

The firat rule of travel insrance is take it out within minutez of boo,ing your holiday.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
If you're not already covered, you've got no chance.
Even if you are already covered, you may find it doesn't cover what you think it does.
Airbnb are allowing cancellations or changes I think so that should be ok.
If Ryanair cancel the flight then you should get a refund on them.

That's very useful information for my holiday which I've already booked. THanks....McKneff said:The firat rule of travel insrance is take it out within minutez of boo,ing your holiday.
I am not already covered. I have seen that some insurers are changing their policies so new policies won't cover any travel relating to coronavirus. But I would think there would still be some?mr_stripey said:If you're not already covered, you've got no chance.

Thanks for the shout out about AirBNB. According to their website, this goes for bookings between 14 March and 14 April. We are flying on 17 April so just after - althoough Airbnb may extend this, who knows.
We only wish to get our money back if we are blocked from entering the country - whether thats by UK government, Montenegro government, or Ryanair.
I know that we would get our money back if flight is cancelled by Ryanair; I am more concerned about how do we get our money back if Montenegro says they will not accept people flying in.
We have every intention of enjoying this holiday so I'm only worrying about if we are not allowed in and whether it's worth to buy insurance.0 -

Flights are with BA. They are offering a voucher refund to be used in the next 12 months. But of course they may cancel the flight by then anyway, so I guess if that is the case then I'd get the money back - assuming BA still exists in May....

Well, Montenegro just announced yesterday that they've closed their borders to all foreigners. I guess that settles it. At least, closed till 5 April but I'm sure will be extended.
Just a matter of time before Ryanair cancels the flight and we can get our money back.
That's the second holiday I've lost in a day - was also scheduled to fly out to America but been cancelled yesterday.
