Coronavirus Egypt

Hi, Hoping someone can help. We are in a hotel in Hurghada with a confirmed coronavirus case and are on lockdown. We have a flight with Tui on Thursday. We booked through Travel Republic and have Nationwide Flexplus insurance. Telephone calls here are extortionate and we are not getting any replies from Tui/Travel Republic on Facebook. I can't find a chat medium for Nationwide Flexplus. Can anyone please advise? Thank you

Not entirely sure what "help" you are needing. According to the Travel Info page on the TUI website, there are no details about Egypt therefore one assumes its business as usual, so as it stands stay at the hotel until Thursday and then go and get your return flight.0

Thank you Bradders. I am looking for any advice but primarily a contact medium for Nationwide Flexplus other than a telephone number. Thank you0

Out of interest what are you expecting your insurer to do? As it stands you have accommodation, you aren't ill (?) and you have a return flight on Thursday.
Absolutely no point contacting them until the cack hits the fan.0 -
We have been advised to contact them by the hotel.0

I really can't see why unless a) they are planning to boot you out, or b) they are planning to keep you locked up beyond your departure date. Do either of these apply?jam2028 said:We have been advised to contact them by the hotel.
If not, then ringing your insurer seems pointless. Nothing has happened yet to make any kind of claim.0 -
Hopefully not!0

In which case absolutely no point making any kind of phone calls or enquiries then. Yet.
TUI may update info for Egypt soon enough, keep an eye on their website. At the moment nothing, so its business as usual.0 -
Thank you.0

I feel sure the hotel has offered advise on what to do in and around the hotel and precautions in place. Follow these. You can always check the well publicised precautionary measures shown on about ever news website in the world if still unsure.
Sensible actions might be to wash your hands regularly, particularly before going into the hotel restaurants, then perhaps with anti-bacterial hand gel before eating. Take sensible precautions when using the buffet area. Maybe keep more distance from others.

Thank you Westin, we are confined to rooms & had been following all precautions prior to this. My post was to request contact advice for your operators without using a telephone as we are not on a package holiday.
Thanks for your response though.1
