Hi all wondering if anyone can help me. My daughter has tried to reclaim on her deceased father’s PPI, Northern Rock have admitted there is PPI, but will not settle without a copy of will or probate. Her father took his own life and none of the above where used. I was wondering if anyone had come across this at all? Grateful for any advice, thanks in advance. Debbie

That is correct where those things exist. Only the executor or sole beneficiary has the right to make a PPI complaint.

I was wondering if anyone had come across this at all?Whilst there may not have been a Will, if he was intestate then it's normal to get a grant of probate (England & Wales) where there were assets and no spouse to pass them to. So, are you sure there is no probate?
If there is no Will or Probate then she informs them there is none.

hi hi thanks for your response. When he passed away my ex was living at his mums and our daughter was 13. There was no will, every thing was just closed with the death certificate. I will get her to go back and explain this. It was also over 10 years ago, so hopefully that will help.0

Hi taff
no there was no grant of administration. Too be honest it was such a shock and as he lived with his mum, it was just getting things dealt with quickly whilst the family arguments was going well on.0 -
You just need to give FOS your reasons as to why you disagree with their decision.
These will be specific to your complaint,1
