US Flight ban refund from Barclaycard

Due to fly to Florida in April but now unlikely due to US ban on flights from UK. I paid for 5 tickets on my Barclaycard, a total of @ £2.5k, can I claim this back from Barclaycard ?
I also paid for the Airbnb accomodation, @ £1.8k and also paid on the Barclaycard. Can I claim this back ?
Many thanks,

The flights should be refunded by the airline if they can no longer be provided.  You'd only need to go to Barclaycard if the airline failed to refund for some reason.

The accommodation will still be available, so you'd need to hope for a goodwill gesture from the Airbnb.

Claim the flights back from the airline/ta whichever you booked with or even your travel insurance

Airbnb is a bit different. The accommodation is still available so no s75. Try your travel insurance.

Barclaycard have no liability fo Airbnb but may be liable under S75 if airline/ta fail to refund
  • I was going to try Virgin Atlantic first for a refund but just wanted to check if I had a fall back to the Credit Card in case they knock me back.
Tbh I've always thought payments on the credit card were insured,
    Thank you for the advice.

Is your trip starting before 14th April?  Check Airbnb's corona refund policy https://www.airbnb.co.uk/help/article/2701/extenuating-circumstances-policy-and-the-coronavirus-covid19

A lot of people think that. But it's not true.
Also travel ins might be worth a try.
