Thermostatic Shower Installation Cost

I'm getting my electric shower taken out and a thermostatic shower put in and I have been given a quote of £500 incl vat excl shower unit. The plumber will also need to run pipes to the shower and re-tile the wall there. I've struggled finding a plumber who will send me a quote for this as there isn't many plumbers in my area so they're all in high demand so that's why I'm asking on here if anyone else had similar done and do they think this is a fair price?

Can't comment on price, but do have two comments to make.
If this involves electrical work the bathroom, it will need building control approval. Most electricians can self certify the work and should provide a certificate stating that the work is compliant and also notify the relevant authorities.
Point 2 - Get the pipes (if copper) sleeved in plastic where they run behind the tiles. Cement can corrode copper which results in hidden leaks that go unnoticed for months/years.

I've recently been seeking quotes to replace an existing thermostatic shower with a new one, which also involves removing a couple of tiles, lowering the pipework by about a foot, making good the wall.
I've had two quotes in the region of £150-£180 and a third for £395.
All parts (including new tiles and shower unit) provided by myself.

If you have access to the shower from above, IE a loft, consider s "Digital Shower" as they can be installed with surface mount plumbing so less of a need to re-tile. We have a mira platinum and we love it.
They do cost more money upfront, but I think this can be off set with lower install costs if you have good access in the loft.
