Credit card refund for multiple passengers

My husband is supposed to be going on a golfing holiday to Turkey next month. All golfers gave their money to one of the 8 who paid all costs with his credit card. If Jet2 cancel I have heard that only the card holder will be refunded his portion of the trip. Is this the case?

did the person who paid get any cashback or reward for paying for all ? will they have to pay back the cashback or reward ??
  • I paid for flights and accomodation abroad for myself and family on my credit card. My  son paid me for his share which I paid directly into my credit card. The holiday has subsequently been cancelled due to Coronavirus. When refunds are given  will they be paid back into my credit card and how can I get this money back to refund my son.  Can I ask for it to be paid into another account.

Yes, the credit card transaction will be reversed.  Just ask the credit card company to send you a cheque, then repay your son.

My husband and his friends are meant to be going to Turkey a week today for a golfing holiday and I paid for all the flights, accommodation & golf on my credit card.  This wasn’t booked as a package but rather the flights with jet2 and the golf and accommodation with another company.  If jet2 cancel the flights I know I’ll get the flight money refunded but what will happen with the golf & accommodation? They all have individual travel insurance policies.

    Hi Gerry1
I am in the same situation as eileenlynch. Can i still ask my credit card company for a cheque even if my credit card balance would remain in debt afterwards?
For example: If I owe my credit card £1000 and am due a holiday refund of £600 (£300 of which is someone else's share), can I just ask the credit card company to send me a cheque for their £300? I then remain £400 in debt.
    Thanks

No they won't split a refund into more than one cheque.
In fact given the situation on staff you will be lucky to get a cheque. If you still have a outstanding balance. I even doubt that they would transfer the refund to your bank account.

  • Am about to get a refund for cancelled flights to my credit card, I paid for the whole family and then they paid me . Now I have no debit on this card and the refund will be for over £2300 . I have to repay these individuals but it will be as a credit on my card I believe ?
How can I get it back as it seems wrong that I can’t 🤷‍♀️🤬

if the balance was zero before the refund and this then puts you into credit you have to  contact the credit card provider and ask them to transfer it to your current account. Then you can pay the others back from there.
